In warehouse automation, three acronyms often carry a lot of weight: <\/span>P2G, G2P, and R2G<\/span><\/b>. While only three letters are involved, the differences between them define how modern fulfillment operates.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

P2G (Person-to-Goods)<\/span><\/b><\/a> has long been Locus Robotics\u2019 hallmark, with Locus Origin and Locus Vector enabling humans and robots to work side by side in the aisles. <\/span>G2P (Goods-to-Person)<\/span><\/b> is familiar to warehouses in the form of automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS), where products are delivered to centralized stations for human picking.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

With the introduction of <\/span>Locus Array<\/span><\/b><\/a>, we\u2019ve now established a third model: <\/span>R2G (Robot-to-Goods)<\/span><\/b>. Unlike <\/span>P2G or G2P<\/span><\/a>, R2G is designed as a <\/span>zero-touch fulfillment system<\/span><\/b>, with Locus Array autonomously traveling to storage locations, selecting items, and staging orders in the aisle for pack out. It combines the strengths of P2G and G2P in <\/span>throughput<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>flexibility<\/span><\/a>, and <\/span>density<\/span><\/a>, while eliminating many of the constraints of G2P.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The Core Difference with R2G vs G2P: Where Automation Meets the Product<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>

In G2P, an order triggers automation in the form of a gaylord or racking to transport bins one at a time to pick stations, where humans select items and quantities. Orders are then packed at the station or downstream.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

R2G works differently. With Locus Array, orders are assigned directly to a robot, which:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>
