Today marks one of the most exciting milestones in Locus\u00a0Robotics\u2019\u00a0history \u2014\u00a0our first\u00a0Locus\u00a0Array<\/a> units arrived\u00a0at a\u00a0DHL<\/a>\u00a0facility in Columbus, OH.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

That\u2019s why it\u2019s especially exciting that DHL will be the first to deploy our new Locus Array units. This moment has been years in the making.\u00a0\u00a0It\u2019s\u00a0been a\u00a0multi-year journey of reimagining what warehouse automation could be. Along the way,\u00a0we became the leader in Person-to-Goods\u00a0(P2G)\u00a0solutions and are now\u00a0defining\u00a0an entirely new category of automation:\u00a0<\/span>Robots-to-Goods (R2G)<\/a>.<\/span><\/b><\/p>

Defining a New Category: Robots-to-Goods (R2G)<\/span><\/b><\/h2>

For years, warehouse automation has largely fallen into three camps: Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (AS\/RS), Goods-to-Person (G2P), and P2G. Each has delivered value, but all share limitations.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

AS\/RS\u00a0and G2P solutions\u00a0require significant upfront capital, long deployment times, and fixed infrastructure that limits flexibility as product mixes or order profiles change.\u00a0They also\u00a0rely heavily on human labor at the pick station,\u00a0which limits\u00a0productivity and\u00a0introduces\u00a0variability.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

While P2G has been a\u00a0significant\u00a0breakthrough \u2014 offering tremendous\u00a0cost advantages,\u00a0flexibility,\u00a0and scalability\u00a0to solve\u00a0many issues of AS\/RS and G2P \u2014 there is still a human labor\u00a0component, with people needed for picking and replenishment tasks.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

R2G changes this equation. With Locus Array, robots autonomously pick, move, and replenish inventory to perform tasks that used to require multiple human touches. Locus Array represents the convergence of Agentic AI<\/a> (digital reasoning and orchestration) and Physical AI (real-world perception and execution). Together, they create systems that sense, decide, and act as one to seamlessly connect digital intelligence with physical action.<\/span><\/p>
